A New You

 

Listen up!  You want to “cure” Diabetes, get rid of bad Cholesterol, get that Blood Pressure down, and lose that extra weight around your waist?  Here’s the secret. 

There is no Secret

Eating a balanced diet consisting of a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans will be effective.   You can eat those same foods for each of these conditions as well as to strengthened your brain power, to help reduce your chances of cancer and to help you live a longer healthier life.  Throw in the requisite persistent (60 minutes), consistent (4-5 days a week) exercise, and get 7-8 hours of restful sleep every night and that should do the trick.

So why is there always some new book on the market or new celebrity “expert” telling you that there is something very special you can do to make your high Blood Pressure go down, or your Diabetes disappear, and your Cholesterol go away?  

You can purchase their book or DVD, or their “products” because that’s what you want to hear isn’t it?   Wouldn’t it be nice if there really was some thing out there that could make us all healthy?   Maybe there is, but I for one haven’t found it as yet.  For now I am convinced that it isn’t out there. 

It’s in you.

You can do it.  You have the power within you to change you. 

You don’t need a new diet, a new exercise, a new book, or DVD. 

You do need a new vision of yourself. 

See yourself as that person in control of your “appetite”, and in control of your time so you will take the time for your own self care. 

See yourself in control of you. 

See yourself having success at whatever it is you want to do. 

See yourself taking the steps to achieve what you want in life. 

Imagine each step along the way and how you will move one step at a time toward all that you’ve envisioned. 

Information is power, so you need to seek it out from reliable sources to assist in creating whatever you envision for yourself. 

It isn’t magic though. 

You can create it with your thoughts and then with your actions. 

Close your eyes and see yourself as you really want to be, then get started making it happen.
