Here are a few tips:
- Always eat breakfast. It kick starts your metabolism everyday.
- Always drink no less than 2 quarts of water everyday.
- Think FIBER!!!!! Make certain all your food intake (yes snacks too) has fiber, (think nuts and unsweetened dried fruit)
- Cut out all sweeteners, sugar, corn syrup, high fructose anything, honey, etc.
- Don't be fooled by the low "net carbs" gimmicks. Those sugar alcohol sweeteners (xylitol, sorbitol, maltodextrose, etc.) all can cause stomach upset and gaseousness. No calories but they may make you crave other carbohydrate calories and eat more. Don't fall for it!!!!
- Eat lots of veggies. The deeper the color the better. Go for the dark greens, reds, orange, and yellows.
- Eat a variety of fruit. You can’t lose with a berry. Again go for the deep color. All are rich in antioxidants to protect your heart and colon.
- Eat at least 4-5 different color fruits and vegetables everyday.
- Eat only whole grains. Whole wheat, rye,oats etc. Brown rice or Basmati rice.
- Eat beans. Lots of fiber. No fat.
- Walk briskly 45 minutes 5 or 6 days a week.
