Menopause

Rejuvenate your diet.  Make an effort to really eat those fruits and vegetables everyday.  Cut out those fatty fast food meals.  Drag out some of those old recipes you’ve been meaning to try.  Commit to trying at least one a week.

Get rid of some of that caffeine.  You don’t need another excuse to be awake at night.

Drink water.  Load up on it.  You’ll be surprised how energized your body can feel when it’s not dehydrated.

Get moving.  Exercise really can conquer the fatigue, lessen that joint discomfort, help with the sleeplessness, and regulate the moods.  It can be a great aphrodisiac too.  Oh, and help with that extra five pounds of weight!

See yourself working out and make a plan to get started now.

Consider taking a yoga class or t'ai chi.  These can help support you in a renewed sense of connection to your body.

Meditate.  Learn how if you don’t already know.  Make it a priority and set the time aside for yourself.

I repeat, attitude is everything.  Decide to have an exciting transition.

Menopause has become a shared experience for many of us.  Talking out loud about it has allowed us the liberty to march on in life and hopefully revel in anticipation of the next great phase on our life’s journey.
